THE BYL SUPPER CLUB IS CALLING FOR NEW MEMBERS FOR 2007.

To fit in with today's busy schedules the Supper Club now has only one seating a year. This means three or four dinner parties for any one group between February 1 and October 31.

For almost twenty years the Supper Club has been offering Brickyard Landing residents a wonderful way to get acquainted with their neighbors. It is a loosely organized group without dues, cooking exams or meetings other than the suppers themselves.

At the beginning of each year I divide the membership up into tables for six, sometimes with a table or two for eight if that is needed to make things come out even. I ask one couple at each table if they would be willing to host the first dinner party. The hosts provide the main course, the others provide the other courses. In the following months the other couples or pairs of singles take turns being hosts. The point of these suppers is not to see who is the best cook or who can set the most elegant table. The point is to enjoy meeting your neighbors for a pleasant meal. Once the tables have been identified, each table can decide what form their gatherings will take, as long as a meal is involved. It can be dinner, lunch, supper, or a Sunday brunch. Or it can be a take out meal or a picnic or what have you. Some members like the idea of going to a restaurant, and that's okay too if the group is amenable. Couples and singles are equally welcome.
